Halloween
1997

October 31, 1997 found us pulling into Fisheating Creek Campground in Palmdale, Florida. We arrived around 4:00 PM to find Armin Scheller and his brother Paul and their families already set up. (They took the 2 best sites, but that's what you get for arriving late.) :-)

It was a beautiful Halloween night. Very dark with hardly any moon or stars. The kids dressed up and did some "Trick or Treating" in the area. The campground had a "Haunted Walk" and some other entertainment on the schedule for the weekend.

Saturday, we just sat around the campground watching Armin drink and we all ate and ate and ate. Then we ate some more.

Sunday was a day of horrors, even though Halloween was now two days ago. We awoke to the warnings from the Campground management about approaching rain, hail, high winds and possibly tornados. What a great day to break camp. But not for us. Not too early anyhow. Theresa insisted on a big breakfast which she cooked under the awning, almost out of the rain. After the "big boys" played getting a fire going in the rain, we all enjoyed it from under the awning. The neighbor campers came over and visited and Ruth Ann gave Mary some cupcakes with candles as she was celebrating her birthday. One she will remember I am sure.

After lunch of leftovers in the rain, we broke camp around 2 PM and headed home. A good time was had by all, and here is the photo album to prove it.
